AP Physics- Period 8

9/4/24 - 9/6/24

This is the first week of school so we will be doing introductory assignments and reviewing class rules and expectations.

9/9/24 - 9/13/24

This week, we will be beginning the main content of the course. We will start with 1-D kinematics (motion) including the difference between position, velocity, and acceleration.

9/16/24 - 9/20/24

This week, we will be continuing our study of kinematics through motion graphs. We will also be completing practice problems over acceleration. We will then be completing our first lab of the year on kinematics outside on the school track.

9/23/24 - 9/27/24

This week, we will be focused on finishing the lab started last week as well as completing the lab on freefall. Following this, the sole focus will be on closing out the unit with a quiz, test next week, and completion of the homework.

9/30/24 - 10/4/24

This week, we will be completing the test for 1D kinematics. After this, we will be completing the free fall lab as well as gearing up for AP exam preparation and a change in procedure to account for this preparation.

10/7/24 - 10/11/24

This week, we will be moving into our next unit of study, vectors and relativity.

10/7/24 - 10/11/24

This week, we will be continuing our study of vectors and relativity. We will also be continuing our lab assignments for the unit as well. A test and quiz over the unit is next week and this week is short due to a waiver day on Friday.

10/21/24 - 10/25/24

This week, we will be concluding our unit on vectors and relativity, specifically through a quiz and test and the 2nd lab of the unit.

10/28/24 - 11/1/24

This week, we will be starting our unit on projectile motion and going over the assignments of the unit as a whole.

11/4/24 - 11/8/24

This week, we will be working on assignments on projectile motion as well as completing the lab on projectile motion.

11/11/24 - 11/15/24

We will also be concluding our study of projectile motion and have a test on Tuesday. We will then be moving on to Newton's Laws of motion

11/18/24 - 11/22/24

We will continuing our study of Newton's Laws of Motion and we will also be starting the inquiry lab over the same topic.

11/25/24 - 11/29/24

This is a short week due to the Thanksgiving break. This week will be a time to do some make-up work.

12/2/24 - 12/6/24

We will be concluding the notes on forces and Newton's Laws. This week is also only 4 days because we have a waiver day on Monday. We will then be moving onto the lab and other work after that

12/9/24 - 12/13/24

We will be concluding our study of Newton's Laws and preparing for both a quiz and test over the unit as well as preparing for the 2nd progress check.

12/16/24 - 12/20/24

We will be completing all of the final assignments in the unit on Newton's Laws, taking the Newton's Laws test and completing the AP progress check.

1/6/25 - 1/10/25

We will be starting the next unit on work and energy this week starting with the guided notes.

1/13/25 - 1/17/25

We will be continuing the unit on work and energy by finishing the notes and then completing a quiz. There is also no school on Friday due to a Teacher Work day.

1/20/25 - 1/24/25

We will be completing the homework over work and energy. This is only a 2 day week this week due to MLK day on Monday followed by 2 snow days

1/27/25 - 1/31/25

We will be completing a lab over work and energy and continuing to work on the homework for the unit as well. We will also be have the quiz this week.

2/3/25 - 2/7/25

We will be starting a unit this week on momentum which is directly connected to what we just finished, work and energy.

2/10/25 - 2/14/25

We will be continuing a unit on momentum and collisions.

2/17/25 - 2/21/25

This is a 4 day week because President's Day is on Monday. We will be starting an experiment on momentum and impulse. We will also be completing the homework on momentum as well. Lastly, there will be a quiz on Thursday.

2/24/25 - 2/28/25

We will be finishing the momentum unit this week and moving into rotational motion. (There are only 4 slides this week as I was out sick with the flu on Tuesday 2/25 - Mr. Brunner)

3/3/25 - 3/7/25

We will be continuing rotational motion this week and this will likely be our only objective as this unit is a shift from previous content.

3/10/25 - 3/14/25

We will be continuing with the rotational motion unit for the remainder of the week. There are only 3 slides this week due to a waiver day on Monday and the ACT day happening on Tuesday which is not a regular school day schedule.

3/17/25 - 3/21/25

We will be concluding the unit this week by completing a quiz, test and the HW over the course of the week.

3/24/25 - 3/28/25

We will be moving on to simple harmonic motion. This week is also going to be slower due to the proximity to spring break and testing.

4/7/25 - 4/11/25

We will finish simple harmonic motion and then we will move on to working on the HW, digital lab, and test review in preparation for a test happening next week.
