Honors Physics- Period 9

9/4/24 - 9/6/24

This is the first week of school so we will be doing introductory assignments and reviewing class rules and expectations.

9/9/24 - 9/13/24

This week, we will be beginning the main content of the course. We will start with 1-D kinematics (motion) including the difference between position, velocity, and acceleration.

9/16/24 - 9/20/24

This week, we will be continuing our study of kinematics through motion graphs. We will also be completing practice problems over acceleration. We will then be completing our first lab of the year on kinematics outside on the school track.

9/23/24 - 9/27/24

This week, we will be focused on finishing the lab started last week as well as completing the lab on freefall. Following this, the sole focus will be on closing out the unit with a quiz, test next week, and completion of the homework.

9/30/24 - 10/4/24

This week, we will be completing a quiz on 1D kinematics. After this, we will be completing the free fall lab and preparing for the test over the unit.

10/7/24 - 10/11/24

This week, we will be moving into our next unit of study, vectors and relativity.

10/7/24 - 10/11/24

This week, we will be continuing our study of vectors and relativity. We will also be continuing our lab assignments for the unit as well. A test and quiz over the unit is next week and this week is short due to a waiver day on Friday.

10/21/24 - 10/25/24

This week, we will be winding down our unit on vectors and relativity, specifically through a quiz and the 2nd lab of the unit.

10/28/24 - 11/1/24

This week, we will be completing the second part of the vector quiz, finishing the remaining assignments of the vector unit and preparing for the test on Friday.

11/4/24 - 11/8/24

This week, we will be starting our unit on projectile motion and going over the assignments of the unit as a whole.

11/11/24 - 11/15/24

We will also be continuing our study of projectile motion and ensuring that everybody is on the same page.

11/18/24 - 11/22/24

We will concluding our study of projectile motion and taking a test on Wednesday. We will then be moving into Newton's Laws of Motion.

11/25/24 - 11/29/24

This is a short week due to the Thanksgiving break. This week will be a time to do some make-up work.

12/2/24 - 12/6/24

We will be continuing the notes on forces and Newton's Laws. This week is also only 4 days because we have a waiver day on Monday.

12/9/24 - 12/13/24

We will be further completing our study of Newton's laws so that we can further prepare for summative assessments coming after the holidays.

12/16/24 - 12/20/24

We will be completing homework over Newton's laws this week.

1/6/25 - 1/10/25

We will be completing the last activities of the Newton's laws unit which is a digital lab assignment and the unit test.

1/13/25 - 1/17/25

We will completing the unit on Newton's laws on the test and then starting the unit on work and energy by finishing the notes and then completing a quiz. There is also no school on Friday due to a Teacher Work day.

1/20/25 - 1/24/25

We will be completing the notes over work and energy. This is only a 2 day week this week due to MLK day on Monday followed by 2 snow days

1/27/25 - 1/31/25

We will be continuing the notes on work and energy this week and preparing for the lab on the unit as well.

2/3/25 - 2/7/25

We will be continuing the notes on work and energy this week and preparing for the lab on the unit as well.

2/10/25 - 2/14/25

We will be finishing a lab on work and energy and then using the rest of the week to complete homework and doing the quiz on work and energy.

2/17/25 - 2/21/25

This is a 4 day week because President's Day is on Monday. We will be starting the week with a test on work and energy. We will then spend the rest of the week working on the notes for momentum

2/24/25 - 2/28/25

We will be continuing the momentum unit this week to lead to the blow gun lab. (There are only 4 slides this week as I was out sick with the flu on Tuesday 2/25 - Mr. Brunner)

3/3/25 - 3/7/25

We will be continuing the momentum unit this week to lead to the blow gun lab. We will also be preparing for the blow gun lab and starting the momentum homework.

3/10/25 - 3/14/25

We will be continuing with the momentum lab and working on the momentum homework this week. There are only 3 slides this week due to a waiver day on Monday and the ACT day happening on Tuesday which is not a regular school day schedule.

3/17/25 - 3/21/25

We will be concluding the unit this week by completing a quiz, test and the HW over the course of the week.

3/24/25 - 3/28/25

We will be moving on to electric fields and forces. This week is also going to be slower due to the proximity to spring break and testing.

4/7/25 - 4/11/25

We will be continuing our work on electric fields and forces and begin preparations for the final project, a tennis ball launcher build
